To enter Direct Mode, type MUMPS/DIRECT or GTM at the DCL prompt.

Example:

        $ SHOW SYMBOL GTM
        GTM=="MUMPS/DIRECT"
        

The SHOW SYMBOL command entered at the DCL prompt shows that the symbol GTM is equivalent to MUMPS/DIRECT. Your site may have a different definition for GTM in order to provide additional debugging tools. The effect of using the symbol should be generally the same.
